Fletcher Studio is an award-winning landscape architecture and urban design collaborative, based in San Francisco’s Dogpatch neighborhood. We create sustainable open spaces and public places and bring meaning and delight into day-to-day life through the design process. Offering comprehensive professional services in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design and Environmental Planning, our current projects include public open space, urban masterplanning and streetscapes, civic plazas, and landscapes for multi-family housing projects. junior designer

summary:

 

The Junior Landscape Architect will participate in design, modeling, and construction documentation under the supervision of senior staff. Typical workload is 2 to 3 projects at a time of varying landscape types and scales. Designers work with multiple senior staff in the office, gain exposure to a variety of design and working styles, and grow technical and project management skills.

Qualifications:

  • MLA, BLA, BSLA, MArch or BArch required

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in a professional office

  • Authorized to work in the United States (current citizen, current H1B or Green Card)

  • Strong design and graphic sense with the ability to verbally and graphically communicate design ideas, moving between hand sketches and digital

  • Excellent 3D and 2D design skills with proficiency in AutoCAD 

  • An eagerness and curiosity to learn all areas of practice

  • Strong work discipline, with self-management skills

  • Other desirable qualifications: Detail-oriented. Interest in diversity of project types with unique challenges. Enthusiasm for ingenious use of materials. 

  • Knowledge of CA plant materials appreciated.

SENIOR LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT

summary:

The Senior Landscape Architect will lead various scales of projects including public open spaces, urban streetscapes, civic plazas, multi-family housing, with a special emphasis on urban master planning projects. This person will co-lead business development efforts with studio leadership, selecting projects to pursue and orchestrating RFP/RFQ response packages. As a Project Manager, this person will work closely with studio principals to develop and implement design objectives. This person will manage support staff and orchestrate coordination with consultants and clients in order to maintain these essential relationships.

Qualifications:

  • MLA, BLA, BSLA, MArch or BArch required

  • 6-12 years of experience in a professional office

  • Authorized to work in the United States (current citizen, current H1B or Green Card)

  • Urban master planning expertise and professional experience, with demonstrable ability to broaden the studio’s portfolio and competitiveness for these project types

  • Experienced in business development efforts, including RFP/RFQ response orchestration and project interviews

  • Previous project management experience in a private firm

  • Strong design and graphic sense with the ability to verbally and graphically communicate design ideas, moving between hand sketches and digital

  • Demonstrated skills in design and construction documentation

  • Experienced in preparing and reviewing graphic and written design documents and specifications

  • Skilled in tracking project costs and budget, and maintaining project organization

  • Ability to smoothly manage workflow and the work of others to meet deadlines and milestones

  • Strong work discipline, with self-management skills

  • Excellent 3D and 2D design skills with mastery in AutoCAD 

  • Knowledge of CA plant materials
