The Texas Street Farm is an integral part of the Rebuild Potrero Healthy Living Initiative, which is a long-term, holistic approach to improving the lives of residents living in Potrero Terrace and Annex (PT&A) public housing in San Francisco. The farm provides free organic produce to all residents of the PT&A, many of whom do not have easy access to fresh produce and suffer from high levels of food related illness. 

Through a renovation and expansion of the existing farm, there will be greater access to organic healthy food and community building opportunities. A new stage and amphitheater would host community performances. A new play area would engage younger residents within the space. Local youth will co-manage the farm program researching appropriate seed varieties, learning the art of seed growing and saving, and providing seeds to family barrel gardens in the PT&A at each doorstep.
